Upcyling T-Shirt in Violett / Upcycling Tee in purple


Ich habe wieder mein t-shirt Block pattern als Basis verwendet. Der Grundstoff für das T-Shirt war ein buntes Tank top und 3 weitere alte Tops und T-Shirts, sowie ein paar Leggins meiner Töchter.
Da alles in Teenager-Grösse war, musste ich mehr zusammensetzen als üblich.

I used my t-shirt block pattern as a base again. The basic material for the t-shirt was a colorful tank top and 3 other old camisoles and t-shirts, as well as a pair of leggings of my daughters.
Since everything was in teenager size, I had to combine more items than usual


1. Wähle das gemusterte T-Shirt als Mittelteil mit einer Naht oberhalb der Brust
2. Verlängere das Mittelteil bis zur gewünschten Länge mit dem Rückenteil des Lila T-Shirts (die bedruckte Seite habe ich nicht verwendet)

1. Choose the patterned t-shirt as middle part with a seam above the chest
2. Extend the middle part to the desired length with the back part of the lavender t-shirt (I did not use the printed front)




3.  Die Länge der Leggins reicht für die Seitenpaneele.

3. The length of the leggings is sufficient for the side panels.

4. Aus dem uni Rückenteil des violetten T-shirts wird das Passenteil.
5. Die restlichen unifarbenen Kleidungsstücke reichen nicht mehr aus, um die Ärmel zuzuschneiden   und gemusterte Ärmel will ich nicht
6. Ich verwende die Rückseite des violetten Vorderteils für den Oberärmel (ist auf der Vorderseite bedruckt).
7. Das graue Camisole reicht für den Unterärmel und die Ausschnittblende.
8. Da beide Teile zu schmal sind für den Ärmel braucht es noch einen Einsatz mit dem Legginsstoff.

4.The plain back part of the purple t-shirt becomes the yoke.
5. The remaining plain fabric is not sufficient for the sleeves and I dont want patterned sleeves.
6. I use the wrong side of the purple front for the upper sleeve.
7. The grey camisole is enough for the lower sleeve and the neckline trim.
8. As both parts are too narrow for the sleeve, I need another insert with the legging fabric.


9. Dekoratives Blattmotiv in Kontrastfarbe um den Saum und den Ärmelsaum zu nähen und den Halsausschnitt zu verschönern.
10. Das Puzzle ist fertig.

9. All seams are sewn with the overlock stitch of my sewing maschine and for the hems I used a decorative leave stitch.
10. The assembling game is finished.

Fleece Hut / fleece hat

Diesen Hut habe ich aus den Resten meines Fleece Mantels genäht. Die Inspiration hatte ich von Siebensachen. Sie zeigt in ihrem Blog, wie sie ihren Hut gemacht hat. Ich möchte das hier noch ein bisschen präzisieren. Mein Kopfumfang beträgt 58 cm. Damit der Hut trotz der vielen Lagen gut passt, den unteren Rand 60 cm weit nähen. For the hat to fit well, despite the many layers, sew the lower edge 60 cm wide. Welche Stiche auf der Nähmaschine verwende ich für Jersey? Which stitches on the sewing maschine do I use for knits?

Hast du mir Tips für das Nähen von Jersey?   Das ist eine Frage die immer wieder auftaucht. Ich habe keine Overlock Maschine und bis jetzt habe ich sie auch nicht vermisst. Ich fürchte mich vor dem Messer der Overlock und davor, versehentlich Löcher in den Stoff zu schneiden. Aber manchmal bewundere ich schon die perfekte Versäuberung der Kanten. Ich habe eine 20-jährige Nähmaschine (ELNA 9006 Envision) die auch einige Zierstiche hat. Die Maschine läuft meistens sehr gut, vor allem auch bei dicken Stoffen. Sie ist nur etwas empfindlich, wenn ich schlechten Faden verwende . Ich habe bis jetzt alle meine Jersey-Projekte darauf genäht. Vor dem Nähen mache ich immer einen Versuch auf einem Reststück des verwendeten Stoffes. Je nach Stoffdicke, Elastiziät und Tagesform???? funktioniert der eine Stich besser als ein anderer. Da Jersey dehnbar ist, muss auch ein dehbahrer Stich gewählt werden, da sonst die Gefahr besteht, dass die Naht reisst, wenn man das Kleidungsstück anzieht. ...

My first pair of tailored trousers (Sara pleated pants by Fabric-Store.com

      This is my entry for the pants sewing contest on Sewing Pattern Review. The entrants were meant to stretch their skills. I was stumped at first. I prefer to wear and sew pull-on pants because they are comfortable and I always wear a long top over them anyway. But these wouldn't be enough.  I could sew a pair of real jeans for my youngest daughter. She reminded me, that we had bought some cotton fabric for her at IKEA that was meant for pants. So why not sew a pair of tailored trousers? Never done that before, but where there's a will, there's a way. The main problem with this, however was, that there were only 2 weeks left to finish the garment. On top of that, my youngest would be going on a trip in 5 days and would not be back before the contest ended. The muslin had to fit by then and there wouldn't be modeled photos of the finished garment. Oh well, let's give it a try.
