Seegras Tankini 2018 / Seagrass Tankini 2018
Ich brauchte dringend einen Badenazug für den Vorsommer-Urlaub. Er sollte nicht zu viel zeigen, aber doch raffiniert sein. Am wichtigsten aber war guter Halt für den Busen und dass alles da bleibt, wo es hingehört.
I urgently needed a swimsuit for the early summer vacation. It should not show too much, but be subtle. But most important was a good hold on the bosom and that everything stays where it belongs.
In einem englischsprachigen Blog sah ich immer mal wieder den Badeanzug "Take the Plunge" von Pattern für Pirates. Dazu gab es auch die Version Bikini und Tankini. Von all den Versionen habe ich mich für ein Tankini mit überkreuztem Vorderteil entschieden und das gerade Rückenteil für den Nackenverschluss verwendet. Dazu gab es die Wahl geraffte oder glatte Hose.
In an english blog I saw the swimsuit "Take the Plunge" by Pattern for Pirates. There was also the bikini and tankini version. Of all the versions, I opted for a tankini with crossed front and used the straight back for the halter neck. There was a choice of shirred or smooth pants.
Der Aussenstoff stammt von Funkifabrics, als Futter habe ich Lycra aus meinem Fundus verwendet, der mir immer irgendwie zu labrig war.
The outer fabric comes from Funkifabrics, as a lining I have used Lycra from my stash, with little body.
Da mir die Beispielbilder v.a. in den grösseren Grössen etwas zu offenherzig waren habe ich folgende FBA gemacht: (ausgehend von Grösse 2X = ca. 54)
Since the sample images especially in the larger sizes were a little too open-hearted I made the following FBA: (starting from a size 2X = about 24)
Durch die Mehrhöhe deckt es besser ab und durch die Mehrlänge konnte ich den Stoff etwas mehr raffen. (Mehr Raffung vor allem Richtung Ausschnitt).
Due to the extra height it covers better and with the extra length I could gather the fabric a bit more. (More gathering especially in the direction of the neckline).
Den Träger habe ich um 1 cm verbreitert und anstelle eines Nackenverschlusses die Träger am Rückenteil befestigt.
In der Anleitung wurde vorgeschlagen für besseren Halt bei grosser Brust Badecups in Badefutter einzunähen. Mir war das zuwenig Halt. Deshalb habe ich mich entschieden, das Schnittmuster für den BH DL02 von make Bra zu verwenden. Die Cups und den Rahmen habe ich mit Duoplex von b,Wear genäht, dazu BH-Bügel und Unterbrustband wie bei einem BH und der obere Rand mit Badegummi. Der BH wurde in der Seitennaht festgenäht. Den Träger habe ich weggelassen und den den BH von Hand am Tankini-Träger festgenäht.
In the manual it was suggested to sew bathcups into bath lining for a better support for big breasts. That was not enough for me. That's why I decided to use the pattern DL02 by make Bra for the bra. I sewed the cups and the frame with Duoplex by b,Wear, with wires and underbust band like a bra and the top with swim elastic . The bra was atached to the side seam. I have omitted the bra strap and sewed the bra by hand to the tankini strap.
Das Jupeteil ist ungefüttert und im 6 cm verlängert.
Die Hose war dann das Sorgenkind. Die Raffung war zu wenig, die Hose hing durch. Also Gummi nochmals abtrennen und fast bis zum Schritt raffen. Schussendlich war sie tragbar und unter dem Jupeteil sieht man sie nicht. Aber wenn man genau schaut, ist sie zu weit, der Beinauschnitt ist zu weit. Vielleicht hatte ich eine Nummer kleiner nähen sollen und die nächste wird garantiert ohne Raffung.

The pants caused problems. The gathering was not enough, the pants sagged. So ripped off the rubber and gathered almost to the crotch. Finally, it was wearable and under the skirt you can not see it. Fazit:
Die Anleitung ist sehr detailliert, durch das Verstürzen des Aussenstoffes mit dem Futter sieht alles sauber aus, ist aber manchmal auch eine Fummelei.Irgendwo habe ich mich dann ausgeklinkt und meine eigene Technik angewendet. Was nicht schön aussieht und an prominenter Stelle liegt, ist die Naht zwischen dem vorderen und dem hinteren Träger, evtl. müsst man das aus einem Stück schneiden.
Conclusion:
The instruction is very detailed, the enclosed seams make it look clean, but sometimes hard to handle. somewhere After a while I applied my own technique. The seam between the front and the rear strap, does not look nice and is in a prominent place.Maybe it should be cut in one piece.
Die Passform des Oberteils ist sehr gut und ich fühle mich wohl darin (auch wenn der BH-Teil noch der Perfektionierung bedarf, aber das sieht man nicht)

I widened the strap by 1 cm and instead of a neck closure I attached the straps to the back.

This looks great. I love the changes you have made to the pattern, thanks especially for details of the FBA and bra insert. A few inches longer and this would also make a great summer dress
